On 5-6 June, Olympia London will once again open its doors to SITS – The Service Desk Show. The event has now been running for over 20 years and attracts 4000 IT professionals every year, who are hungry to learn more about the future of their industry. It’s also completely free to attend.

The exhibition is the largest of its kind in Europe, with over 100 ITSM products and services under one roof and the conference programme featuring some pretty big names; which this year includes, Netflix, Airbnb, Starbucks and of course Service-Flow!
Juha Berghäll
Service-Flow CEO, Juha Berghäll will be taking to the stage on the Wednesday of SITS to share with the audience why we shouldn’t be so quick to throw out our ITSM tools when our strategies start to dwindle. In his session entitled ‘Don’t Blame The Tool, Re-think your ITSM Strategy’ Juha, will deep dive into some of the common mistakes made when tackling IT projects, especially those where moving every service into ‘one platform’ appears to be the answer.

It is often thought that implementing a multi-vendor or multi-sourced ITSM ecosystem is complex, fragile and difficult to gain good visibility over. However, with the modern SIAM practices and technologies now available, it is far more beneficial to the business to adopt more ‘best-in-class’ ways of working, whilst still maintaining high levels of control and transparency over what’s going on across the whole of the IT ecosystem.

But not every business and IT leader knows this yet. Nor are they confident about the solutions available for running multi-vendor IT services, and so the old frustrations with ITSM tools keep coming back. Our goal at SITS this year is to show the audience and attendees, what they can achieve when they choose not to blame and replace their ITSM tools, but to see how fitting them into a more careful curated and managed set of high performing integrations could be the better answer.

What else not to miss at SITS 2018

In addition to taking part in the conference programme and exhibition, we are really excited about coming back to SITS again this year. Being such a big event, it can be easy to miss out on some of the good things going on! So here’s a quick hit list of things to do while you’re at SITS 2018.

  1. Breakfast briefings

If you can manage to get to central London for 8.30, SITS starts each day with a free breakfast and keynote session. Like the rest of the event it’s free to attend, but you usually have to register in advance. You also get to pick up your badge early too and beat the queues at the main entrance!

  1. Hot topic round tables

Sitting in a conference theatre all day isn’t always the best way to learn. Especially if you have specific questions you want answering or learn better through discussion. So, you can attend one or more of around 25 round table discussions taking place across the two days. The topics are pre-set and you can find them in the show guide. Again, you normally sign up for each table, but you can do that on the board next to the round table area on the show floor. Each discussion is hosted by an expert in that subject area and last for around half an hour.

  1. After parties!

There are normally a fair few after parties you can attend at the end of the first day. No-word yet on whether it’s happening again this year, but the Freshworks Rooftop party with BBQ and craft beers is always our favourite. Also this year for the second time running will be the itSMF Professional Service Management Awards, taking place round the corner at the Sheraton Hotel, Piccadilly. It costs around £140 to attend, but it’s a great night out and an excellent celebration of what the ITSM industry has to offer.

We look forward to seeing you at SITS this year on 5-6 June. If you would like to pre-register for Juha’s presentation you can do that here. You can also book your free tickets to SITS and see all of the other great content on offer on their website.

If you’d like to discuss any of your ITSM or SIAM goals and challenges with our expert team, you can either get in touch and book a time to chat with us at SITS or just swing by our exhibition stand number 615 and see if we’re free.
